It is a beautiful gentle hue of pink and white everywhere along the streets of tokyo and just watching these flowers dance in the wind lifts my mood along with the breeze...

I went to the same park (the nearest one to our place) on friday for a walk before the usual supermarket shopping
and it really brightened my day walking alongside the sakura trees on a peaceful friday morning. Then on satuday, J and i decided to head to a park further down the river.
It was really crowded with families gathering for picnic. But seeing people enjoy themselves on a sunshiney sauturday lifted my mood too =)
We took our bentos with us too!
in the 1st layer, there was shumai (store bought)
2nd layer, tamagoyaki (egg roll), flower leaves salad with bonito, simmered carrots and beef.
and sakura prawns and cheese onigiri

i wonder how many types of sakura trees there are in japan, but i like this one in particular cos its branches sprout open like a firework in progression, and the hue of pink is slightly deeper.

That was me and okaasan at the marathon this morning along the yoshikawa river. we took the 5km challenge and i think it was very refreshing way to start a sunday and a nice warm week ahead.

and after the run, we headed to this park nearby for a picnic lunch =) sakuras everywhere again. beautiful.
Dinner this evening was very full of meat
teriyaki chicken topped on rice, roast pork salad topped with fried potatoes and drizzled with mayonaise, egg tofu, beef and carrot soup.
Poor J felt so tortured that we dragged him to the marathon, so i tried to make up with a very meaty dinner. =P

Looking forward to the brand new week!~
