Bought this vegetable from the farmers mart today...

Called Kohlrabi, a type of German turnip

looks like this inside.
Cant believe these are grown at a farm not far from our home!
Cooked it with some minced beef in a herb tomato stew.
topped with parmesan cheese
This was Js breakfast
Minced pork cutlets
Looks like croquette on the outside, but not filled with potatoes, only minced pork and onions.
Mentioned some time ago that i queued at a meat stall in Kichijoji to buy some meat cutlets. didnt get to buy the minced pork cutlets though because of the 50m long queue, but since it was raining on friday, the queue was so short i decided to just join it (in the rain though).
And since people buy an average of 20!, i decided to go for 10.
Thought it would be soooooooooooo good, but when we tried, i felt i could eat 10 bowls of rice!
Kiddidng, i am not such a fan of rice yet.
But the smell of the meat was so strong i had a hard time swallowing my first bite.
Simply, i didnt like it.
And since we have so many of them in the freezer, i told J he would be spotting this in his bento pretty often for the next few days.

Dinner was wayo style
Wafu means japanese style, while yofu means western style, so wayo basically is japanese style of western cuisine =)

Wafu soup pasta with ume & freshly picked shiso leaves from my garden

and with the lot of hazelnuts i roasted last week, dessert was...
chcolate ice cream topped with lots of nuts, dried fruit & bran flakes
My back is easing up a bit, so am cheering up a bit =)
