The air is getting dry and bread that i keep at room temperature seems to be getting dehydrated with time.
i tried making hot sandwich this morning, but the bread just wasnt malleable enough.
it became cracky. hehe but we still had it anyway
with the crusts,
and the creamiest cream cheese i ever had, again this was from the Koiwai farm fair last week.
J says, hey since this isnt that expensive, lets stick with this.
Imported foods are usually cheaper than local produce here, so apart from vegetables, fish and chicken, we buy american and french produce quite often too. cheese of course we have the kiri french cheese, but i have a hard time spreading it out on the bread, so my problem is solved with this super creamy cream cheese =)
i kept my taiyaki from J to have for morning break
green tea base, with red bean filling (my all time fav!)
with anko that is not so sweet, so i really enjoyed
some taiyakis have anko (bean pastes) that is sooooooooooo sweet i have to gulp a few cups of tea with it.
dinner was yakisoba with a twist
salmon chanchan yaki with noodles
chanchan yaki is a hokkaido style of cooking fish.
usually done on a hot plate with lots of vegetables and a sweet miso paste to mix in.
this recipe was from a cooking show. well, not bad, but i think the noodles and the chanchan yaki fish was too heavy for me.
simple shoyu based kamaboko & broccolli soup with gingko nuts
its the weekend!!!
and i have a good friend coming next week! cant wait to meet you Emilia!!!
