Dinner was...Foil baked snapper with ginger and shiitake in shoyu butter, topped with ume.
with lots of garlic and white asparagus under the fish fillet, this dish was simple yet full of flavour~and with the remaining roast pork slices, made a simple corn soup with vegetables and soya beans. Wow never knew this combination could be so yummy! bursting with the sweetness of this season’s corn @.@

Melons r in season too!!! So, for dessert, the very chilled rock melons were simply satisfying~~~
I used to think melons were crazily high priced in Japan since the first time i saw those gems were that of an artisan fruit shop. costing an average of 10,000yen (abt USD100). i had thought it was impossible for the average household to enjoy those melons till i started living here and realised, hey, the supermart has more humane prices! bought one and tried last summer and was bowled over by the juicyness and sweetness of the melons! just one slice and u will b satisfied for a very long time. hehe the 2 of us usually have 2 slices each time. simple luxury. =)
