This nama(raw) caramel that came from Hokkaido and opened its first store in Tokyo Aoyama last month has been drawing such huge crowds that you would have to queue for at least 2 n half hours to get a taste of it. Of course you can get the pieces of caramel over the internet, but only at this store can u have it in its molten version and poured over hokkaido milky soft ice cream. we dropped by but left after seeing the queue, which left me with a stronger craving for it. So after the chef appeared on tv and taught how to make it, i decided to try!

the taste was good & very similar to the real thing (tasted some at okaasans place cos bro in law has a friend who bought quite a lot over the net) , but i still need to perfect the texture.
drizzled it over some cookie ice cream. =)
will try making the caramel again when this lot is finished.

Dinner was filled with all our favourite adult dishes.
chopped marinated (made up of ginger, miso, sake, shoyu and chopped japanese leeks) katsuo (swordfish) topped on sushi rice
black bean natto
and japanese miso based ratatouille
more rest days to come and i m getting so relaxed that i feel like sleeping the whole day >.<
