It was rainy the whole day and i made a nice pot of red bean soup to keep me warm while i go about with my household chores. it has been a long time since i used the regular red azuki beans ever since J got me a pack of high grade gigantic ones from a stall selling just beans.
Since i finished them all, i got the regular type from the supermart and realised it is a BIG difference. the taste is just not deep enough. now i have a new excuse to make more bean soup. =) so i can quickly finish this pack and request for the special ones =P
Dinner tonight was
grilled stuffed fried beancurd skins
filled with japanese style meat sauce and mochi
teriyaki eringi mushrooms topped on brown rice
mentaiko potato salad
everytime the mart has a special price for eringi mushrooms, i love to fill my cart with many packs and do a luxurious teriyaki saute with thickly sliced pieces and simply enjoy the nice chewy and succulent texture.
i think the supermart lady at the register probably remembers me as the mushroom stalker (stocker). >.<
