I so wanted to try this idea out after seeing this on tv.
it was a feature on the best ways to enjoy kentucky fried chicken.
and besides the salads, sandwiches, etc
there was this idea from someone, using the bones to make good chicken stock, and using this stock to cook ramen!
haha why didnt i think of that?! chicken pieces are usually sold in fillet form at the supermart without all the bones, so i never bought chicken with the bones attached before. in fact, they are also rarely found at the regular supermart. So, we came back from KFC yesterday excited from the smell of the fries in the bag, and excited to have homemade chicken stock!
with 2 different flavoured soups (salt and shoyu) that came with the sapporo ramen i bought from a fair last week
ramen topped with KFC chicken and vegetables and mushrooms, then dipped into the soup before slurping.
it was really good!
ramen soup, i realised is quite salty. ok, i never, yeah NEVER or, well, rarely say the soup is salty. but these days, my tolerance for salt seems to be decreasing. J is quite very glad to see this though =P
Dinner tonight was a one person affair
there was a piece of chicken saved from yesterday, which i heated up
and again, harvested chicken stock for my vegetable simmer dish.
