Golden breakfast combi
Natto topped on rice, and miso soup to power charge the morning

Natto, cucumber slices, myoga strips and the beautiful fresh egg
I really still cant stomach raw eggs. The yolk just irks me.
But for most Japanese, once they start picking up chopsticks as a child, raw egg mixed into rice for breakfast is really a norm.

Dinner tonight was...

Leeks stir fried with tomatoes and eggs
This stir fry method was what i picked up from TV.
By adding into the beaten eggs, a dash of white wine and a teaspoon of cornstarch, plus the usual salt and pepper, the egg stir fry turns out soft and runny nicely.
Another point is to add the vegetable stir fry INTO this egg mixture, and returning this to the pan for 3 seconds.
Was pleased with the effect =)

Eggplant & green capsicums miso simmered
This is like the wafu (japanese style) version of ratatouille. Except instead of tomatoe puree, miso!
komatsuna vegetables and shiitake anchovies & soya beans based soup
topped with crunchy anchovies

I ground up some dried anchovies and stored them in a bottle for quick nutritious soups without the need for store bought granules.
Adding soy beans is mums style and i really like the flavour this combination brings.
And to season the soup, just a little shoyu & sake & sometimes konbu tea.
I simply love this easy on the stomach soup!
