Its been a warm day today peaking at 21deg at noon, but with the cool, dry spring breeze, it was really really a wonderful day for basking in the sun.
Just that we had no time to do that this weekend.
By lunch, we were thirsty & hungry after all that walking around the baby emporium & supermart. So, since it was a nice sunny day, we took the chance to have something refreshing for lunch.
salad style soba
with lots of greens, tofu pieces, chicken bits & tomato cubes
AND since sakura season will be springing by soon, sakura mochi is out at most wagashi shops
my favourite red bean mochi of the year has to be this
red bean paste wrapped in a pink crepe like mochi layer & salted sakura leaf over
For people who know my werid tastebuds, you would have guess it is the salty leaf that i so like with the sweet bean paste.
plus, the fragrance of sakura is just so soothing~
another treat from misdo
cream puff like doughnut coated with chocolate & topped with strawberry cream
Dinner was suuuuuuuuuper late, but something which i have been looking forward to
homemade simmered charsiew with tofu & half runny hard yolk boiled eggs
Simmered Jerusalem artichoke with sakura prawns & shiitake mushrooms
in garlic miso
This is our first time trying this interesting root vegetable, which has a cross texture between daikon & potatoes or yam. I kind of like the plain taste cos it is a nice change from yam.
Anyhow, my crave for carbohydrates these days is still on high.
it is 11.20pm, but J is still hard at work scrubbing some old shelves.
while my butt is on the carpet. makes me feel bad =P
OK i should feel thankful =)
