First time i attended a graduation ceremony!
An Italian friend is graduating from a fashion university in Tokyo and flying back home next week. Am so happy for her =)
Being a girls university, it was super super eye candy!
Almost everyone was in their kimono, and in their prettiest =)
Usually for the graduation ceremony, the hakama is used.so, over the kimono layer, a long skirt is worn, which makes the kimono look like a gown!
like in this row, the girl behind was in the usual kimono, while most of the crowd had their hakamas on.
the hall was soooooooooooo colourful compared to the sea of blue at NUS.
but the guest crown was all black and grey which made me realise, i still dont have the typical japanese thinking of dressing black white for formal events.
Was in a semi formal floral dress, which made me stand out a bit. woops.
i know what to wear next time.
Dinner was simple grilled dishes
besides an egg soup and grilled fishcakes,
grilled stuffed fried beancurd skins
filled with natto, mochi and daikon leaves and anchovies
grilled giant leeks with carrot miso paste
hijiki with flower greens
am so in love with these flower greens which are really really sweet!
not fibrous at all, which made chowing on them really enjoyable.
i was told to eat more of these, and i thought i might not like them cos stalky vegetables are always so filled with fiber which makes chewing very tiring. but hey, i am liking them~!
