We are going through a very long summer this year.
The longest in 113 years.
We can feel a bit of wind already though, but the alerts for dehydration are being casted everyday.
Anyway, my mood has upped quite a bit since our weekend started on wednesday.
We waited for our break with long stretched tired necks, and finally the long long week ended on tuesday, so J and i get to spend 2 weekends back to back.
We went to Kichijoji for a date yesterday.
It was indeed mind renewing to get outside after staying home almost all day for weeks.
The greeny trees will start turning brown soon, so time for us to enjoy the last bit green for the year.
and clean up the fans before we store them away in a few weeks time
I thought this looked pretty much like the Kitchen Aid mixer from the back.
OK, so this was what we wanted to try,
a burger place that a friend recommended, Village Vangard burger.
apparently, ranked number one most popular among the burger restaurants in kichijoji
we didn't get any kick out of it. It was volumney with all the veg they stack, but the patties were really mediocre.so definitely not number one on our list.
We still prefer Gono burger, with their addictively delicious charcoal grilled burger patties.
The buns are also yummier at Gono.
And satisfy our kakigori craving, we went for our usual dating spot Azabu Sabo,
a place we checked out very often even during dating days.I wanted to have this super bitter green tea version, topped with red bean (which was covered in green tea syrup).
It was really bitter, but we enjoyed scooping the soft serve ice cream from another anmitsu dessert that we ordered, and slathering it on this bitter shaved ice.
I think we should have more of such dates.
Dinner was made of a bit of this and that
Simmered pumpkin, pickles, shoyu egg, white shimeji salad, black sesame simmered burdock, and sauteed okra with maitake mushrooms
YUMMY!!! i could have a few sticks at one go if nobody was watching @@
