soup yakisoba

J's brother and family and the folks came over to celebrate Lisa's and my birthday today!

it was such a surprise. and i really enjoyed having the whole gang come in and make some noise in our otherwise pretty quiet place.

The kids made my day =) Each time i see them, their faces change.

Ok so, since i didn't expect them to bring lunch over too, i happily went ahead and cook what we wanted to try after seeing on TV.

Yakisoba in soup!

Basically sweet sauce type yakisoba put in a bowl of clear chicken soup.

Bad choice.

Firstly, J doesn't fancy the sweet sauce yakisoba.

So as he ate, he kept repeating he doesn't take sweet sauce.

Secondly, being a hot day, it was hard to finish that piping hot bowl.

Thirdly, after we finished, we find a whole party of sushi and home made pasta and charsiew.

Happily i went to buy the cabbage, noodles and sweet sauce for cooking lunch. Things which were not exactly light in the grocery bag. and happily cooked the dish after searching for a good recipe online; a recipe that was exactly shown on TV by the small restaurant selling this in Aomori. And what was requested, i did, added lots of veg, and somebody was pulling a face during lunch. =( Because one doesn't like sweet sauce.

Am never gonna take requests lightly anymore.

Well, good things the kids came in, or else i would have been fuming the whole afteroon.

Dinner was simple since we had so much in the afternoon

Ah~ it was a hot hot day, but we had lots of fun at home.

The rain starts tomorrow we hear from the news.
